This is not the official website of Siddiq Barmak or of the Barmak Film production company. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or paid by Mr Barmak, his representatives, his production company or any distributor of his films. Nothing on this site is written by him or on his behalf.
The address barmakfilm.com was once used for the website of Barmak Film. That site went offline and the domain later expired. It is now run by an independent publisher who has rebuilt it as a reference guide, with entirely new writing and original artwork. Because many encyclopedias and news articles still link to this address, we think the most useful thing it can offer readers is accurate, well sourced information about the films and the history they belong to.

Editorial standards
- Sources first. Every page lists its main sources: interviews, festival records, reference works and reporting. Where sources disagree, we say so or leave the claim out.
- Short, attributed quotations. We quote interviews briefly, name the publication and date, and link to the original.
- No invented detail. Where reliable information is missing, as it is for parts of Barmak's recent career, we say that rather than fill the gap.
- Original artwork only. The illustrations on this site are original designs. We do not reproduce film posters, stills or photographs without permission.
- No piracy. We never link to unlicensed copies of films.
